About

brodflour was founded in 2017 with one simple goal: to give people the license to enjoy bread again.

Good, fresh bread doesn’t exist without good, fresh flour. So, to achieve our goal, we’ve changed the way flour is harvested, milled, and baked. At brodflour, we work with the grain, rather than against it. We place fresh at the centre of everything we do, making sure each of our products is alive and packed with nutrients—from the farm, to the mill, to your mouth.

The Farm

This starts with sourcing premium heritage Canadian grain. We have developed strong relationships with a handful of Canadian farmers, and work closely with them to source and cultivate the highest-quality crops in the country. Each certified organic plant is tested to make sure it meets carefully-set standards for quality, protein content, and moisture.

Our Mill

Once harvested, the grain is gently milled in our certified organic stone mill. Having our mill on site means we can mill and bake with fresh flour, keeping the nutrients and flavours intact in each grain.

Our stone-mill reduces processing, allowing more vitamins and minerals to be preserved. That’s why our list of ingredients is short—we don’t have to add anything extra to compensate for what’s missing.

Our mill is just steps away from where our bakers scale, mix, shape, and bake all our sourdough breads and other baked goods.

To You

Baked fresh daily, brodflour bread is made from ancient and heritage grains, milled fresh into wholesome flour. We offer something for everyone; our assortment of loaves covers a wide range, from white breads to a variety of Scandinavian rye breads.

In addition to fresh flour and loaves of bread, brodflour offers delicious breakfast and lunch options, including toasts and baked goods. We are committed to showcasing quality ingredients from local producers, prioritizing organic products, and knowing what goes best with your bread.

Our bright, Scandinavian-inspired space, which also features a coffee bar and community-oriented dine-in seating, invites people to break bread together.
